Central Car Repair

Central Car Repair (CCR) is a contract freight car repair shop with locations in Arizona, Colorado and Texas. CCR performs general contract repairs for railroads and car leasing companies. Contract repairs performed by CCR include wheel bearing inspections and replacement, bolster inspection and replacement, carbody welding repairs, side bearing installations, flatcar deck replacement, car cleaning, door and outlet gate replacements and renewals and all other non-pressure vessel repairs. Working in conjunction with its host railroads, CCR provides its customers with storage as well as repairs.

History

Central Car Repair began operations in May 2002 with locations in Brownfield and Kermit, Texas. A third location began operation in Globe, Arizona in December 2004. CCR’s newest location is at Alamosa, Colorado, with operations beginning in January 2006.
